Reviews about Mansfield Post Office
- Stu Robinson Review added: 2018.10.29★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Simply put, it's shockingly bad, but I blame their head office for this, not the staff (besides the one that I'll get to later on in my review).
There's 5 counters but I've never seen more than 2 of them in use at any time.
There are constant long queues. It doesn't matter what time you go, you'll always have a very long wait.
It was bad before they moved into WH Smith's but it is far worse now. Cuts have clearly been made to save money and not to improve things for their customers. Again, head office's fault.
The only real issue I have that isn't down to head office, is with one long-time serving member of staff, whom I will not name.
Due to this person, the last time I visited, I had an hour-long wait in the queue.
Just to set the scene a little more, It was very hot (about 29 degrees) and there's no air con in this branch. (If there is, it wasn't turned on).
Three customers that went to this staff person, had to fill in multiple (very thick) documents and were just allowed to do them at the counter, whilst everyone else in the (massive, hot) queue had to wait.
Why couldn't this staff member use their common sense and serve other customers whilst these people were filling their forms in?
That's what I do in my customer-oriented job. It's all about getting the queue down and juggling things. You don't just sit there, waiting and ignoring the dozens of customers who were getting (very visibly) irate.
I'm not exaggerating when I say that these 3 incidents alone accounted to everyone in the queue having to wait another 30-40 minutes extra.
This is totally unacceptable. Many of these customers could have been dealt with in the time it took one person to fill in their passport/driving license/insurance policy documents.
Over the last 15 years, I've lost count of the amount of people who have moaned/complained about this staff member.
I imagine this person creates a lot of extra work for the other (capable) staff members.
